Good questions. Clear answers.
What’s here today, what’s coming, and how your work is saved.
What can I make in ShortReels today?
Write ideas, connect notes and references on a canvas, build a storyboard, and arrange uploaded images and video clips in a reel. You can trim clips and preview their playback.
Do I need filmmaking experience?
No. Start with a sentence, a character, or a reference image. Add scenes as your idea grows, then arrange the moments in the order you want.
Can ShortReels generate video yet?
Not yet. You can save a prompt, model preference, aspect ratio, and queue preference in the generation panel. GPU generation and the paid prompt helper are planned; no job is submitted or credits charged.
Where are my drafts and uploads saved?
They currently stay in this browser on this device. There is no cloud backup or cross-device sync. Clearing browser data can remove your work, so keep your original scripts and media files. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to access the drafts.
Can other people see or copy my story?
There is no public publishing, story marketplace, or paid cloning in this version. Drafts are local to your browser. Sharing links on the website share ShortReels itself, not your story.
How much does it cost?
Paid packages are being planned. Prices, credits, supported video models, and queue availability are not final, and checkout is not open. Current preview access is not a promise of a continuing free plan.
Can I download a finished reel or canvas?
Rendering and downloading a finished reel or canvas are not available in this version. You can arrange, trim, and preview media in the studio; keep copies of your source files.
Where can I find screenplay inspiration?
The studio links to the Internet Movie Script Database. Browse it separately, then add a source link or a reference file you have permission to use. ShortReels does not automatically retrieve or ingest those scripts.
